System requirements and compatibility
This section covers the operating system and PC requirements for PcVue 17.0.
Operating system support
Only operating systems from the Microsoft® families of Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019 and Windows Server 2022 are supported.
Use Windows Client versions for operator stations and Windows Server versions for server stations.
Supported and operational
- Windows 10 version 1607 or later (Professional and Enterprise editions)
- Windows 11 (Professional and Enterprise editions)
- Windows Server 2016 (Foundation, Essentials, Standard, and Datacenter editions)
- Windows Server 2019 (Foundation, Essentials, Standard, and Datacenter editions)
- Windows Server 2022 (Foundation, Essentials, Standard, and Datacenter editions)
Operational but may have limitations
If your target platform is in this category, validate your architecture with Technical Support before deployment.
- Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2016 or later
- Windows 11 IoT Enterprise
- Windows Server IoT 2019 and Windows Server IoT 2022
- Windows Server for Embedded Systems and all other embedded systems
- Operating systems hosted in a virtual machine (for example Microsoft® Hyper-V and VMWare® products)
Not supported
Do not deploy PcVue on operating systems listed in this section.
- All other versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11 (in particular Windows 10 version 1507 (RTM) and 1511 (Nov 2015 update))
- Windows 10 IoT Core
- Windows Server installation in Nano Server or Server Core mode
All operational versions of Windows Server must be installed with the Desktop Experience option.
For all operational versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11, only the x64 processor architecture is supported.
System requirements
PcVue requires .NET Framework 4.8 and cannot run on an operating system if .NET Framework 4.8 is not preinstalled or cannot be installed separately.
Verify .NET Framework 4.8 availability before installation to avoid setup failures.
For all platforms, apply any critical updates from the Windows Update website. Some operating systems might also require the latest Windows service pack.

Supported mobile operating systems for TouchVue and SnapVue
As of April 2026, the TouchVue and SnapVue mobile apps support the following platforms:

TouchVue and SnapVue are available on Google Play™ and the App Store. Check the relevant store for compatibility with your mobile device.
Supported Microsoft SQL Server versions
Using the HDS for database archiving with PcVue requires one of the following SQL Server versions:
- Microsoft® SQL Server 2014
- Microsoft® SQL Server 2016
- Microsoft® SQL Server 2017
- Microsoft® SQL Server 2019
- Microsoft® SQL Server 2022
The HDS supports the following OLE DB drivers from Microsoft:
- MSOLEDBSQL up to version 19 included (recommended)
- SQLOLEDB
Depending on your project requirements and their specific constraints, any of the following editions can be used: Express, Workgroup, Web, Standard, Business Intelligence, Enterprise or Datacenter.
