Updating an existing installation

This topic covers prerequisite maintenance actions that are available from the same maintenance interfaces used for PcVue.

Prerequisite installation maintenance​

Prerequisites are installed as bundles containing one or more components. In Windows, you can see the bundle and its components in Apps & features or Programs and Features.

Uninstalling prerequisites while keeping PcVue or Web Deployment Tools installed can prevent the product from running correctly.

  • The prerequisites bundle for PcVue is PcVue Prerequisite.
  • The prerequisites bundle for Web Deployment Tools is Web Deployment Tools Prerequisite.

To maintain prerequisites, select the prerequisite in the list and click Uninstall, Repair, or Re-install.

Repairing prerequisites​

You can repair a bundle or an individual component:

  • If you repair a bundle, missing individual components are installed.
  • If components are already installed, they are repaired.

Re-installing prerequisites​

You can install missing components individually. If components are missing, clicking Re-install for the corresponding bundle reinstalls missing components in that bundle.
